LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

There once was a Devil
Who decided he had enough
Of a lonely little hotel
That some may call Hell
(Whatever you may call it,
it certainly wasn’t swell.)
And so he left the place
He once called home
In search of a better base
Around the world did he roam.

He went to Australia
To Sydney, Melbourne, Perth
He even did Tasmania
But alas! had not the mirth
When someone mistook him for
A real Tasmanian Devil
He was miffed to be sure
And insisted a Devil in Tasmania
Was not quite the same
As a Tasmanian Devil
(Not this one, he’s far too tame.)

He went to Europe
In hope of finding home
He bought a telescope
And ended up in Rome
The Devil in Venice
The Devil in Paris
The Devil in Milan
And still not quite done.

He discovered Louis Vuitton
And a brand whore was born
Burberry, Gucci and Paul Smith
Had labels flying out of his teeth
But the best of all
From mall to mall
Was the little brand Prada
(And this is why, my friends
That we call him, in the end
The Devil Wears Prada)

And along the way, the Devil arrived
In this wonderful city, a perfect jive
Some call it Kay-El
Others call it Kuala Lumpur
Depending on who the tale is to tell
Once here, one never escapes its lure.

And so the Devil Wears Prada
Found his Happily Ever After
And to celebrate his third year
Of coming out of the dark
His friends, for a lark,
Came together in good cheer
With plenty of food and beer
To commemorate this special mark…

With a confection made only
For the Devil who craves simply
Peanut butter and chocolate
(More nuts than chocolate)
And so we have this cake
That the fat boy baked
And we have this take of
The Devil Wears Prada
And his Heavenly Nuts
(May he eat it happily ever after.)

Yours, ever and always.
