LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

“Guess who I just saw?”

Dr. Mouse messages us from Edinburgh. He’s usually busy with his work so it’s quite unusual for him to contact us in the middle of a working day. We have no clue who he just saw though.

“No clue. Who?”

He sends over a picture of the Dalai Lama surrounded by people, both security and his fans. (Does one call the followers of a religious head ‘fans’, I wonder?)

“I’m totally hanging around His Holiness like a groupie,” Dr. Mouse says. “If I’m lucky I’ll get to shake his hand!”

Some how the vision of Dr. Mouse (who is the most zen-like friend we have) shaking hands with the Dalai Lama seems so funny yet appropriate. We could imagine the introductions already: the doctor and the Dalai Lama. It brings a smile to our faces.

Yours, ever and always.
