My dearest,

When I was younger, my Mom wouldn’t let me add sugar to my drinks.

“Anything’s that sweet isn’t good for you,” she used to say. But I was a kid. Which kid would listen? Cue the cavities.

Now that I’m older, I find my sweet tooth waning. These days I’m the one grunting, “That’s too sweet. Next time less sugar, please.”

Or better yet, none at all.

My tastes have become plainer, simpler. Not a bad thing, really.

You, my dearest, are never too sweet. Just right. Just enough. Simply a good thing, really.

Yours, ever and always.
