LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

July 23, 2012

My dearest,

You’ve more or less taken over my camera. I had bought it a couple of years ago, ahead of our first trip to Japan, to capture the falling sakura petals (and not, as one friend put it, “flinging butterflies into the air”). But in time it became obvious you were much better at taking photographs; you had the eye for a good picture.

And now you are sitting in your study, bent over your computer, using Photoshop to edit the images you took over the weekend. Your brows are tightly knot in concentration, furrows of decision-making, of choices and colour saturation. You are lost in a world of your own, one I introduced you to (but one you’re travelling further on).

I couldn’t be prouder.

Yours, ever and always.
