LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

We are driving to dinner when you tell me you are thinking about tweaking your pictures again. Aren’t the pictures already up? I ask. You say yes, you posted them up this morning. But the picture of the pork belly soup, the soup spoon needs to be a little bit brighter, you say. And the small dish of yee sang? The pink table cloth surrounding it needs some colour adjustment.

Man, I say, you are such a perfectionist.

No, you retort, I am not. A perfectionist would have made sure the pictures were perfect before posting them. Mine are only eighty percent okay before I publish them so I’m at most an eighty-percent-ionist.

You make up these terms and you are so humble. You say you are only an amateur but all I see is hard work. All I see is the passion. You may be only an eighty-percent-ionist but you are one hundred percent adorable.\

Yours, ever and always.
