LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

Fill up this space with your open smiles and your generous laughter. I held you and I held Something Good. Be well and be safe and be happy. That is all anyone wants for you. That is all I pray for you to be. Such a long road ahead, so many years to come. May all of them be filled with wonder and adventures and wisdom well-earned. You are afraid of your future, you tell me, all the what-if’s and all the things unknown. Don’t think so much, I say (though I know this is hard, for I think too much too), don’t. Just live it. Let go of the future and just live it now.

Life is hard, you say. Life is hard, I agree, that part we all get, whether we like it or not. Our choice is to live it well or not. We can choose. We must choose. Just live it. Let life be hard and let life be good, but just live it true. You fill up my space with your gentle smiles and your wholesome laughter. You held me and so I understood: This is life, this is what is true.

Yours, ever and always.
