My dearest,

Eight means fatt or huat: Good fortune. For you and me, and our family and friends.

Eight is also the number of years of wedded bliss. Good fortune this, too, but also a lot of hard work. A lot of love went into building a life together, the shape of you and me as one family.

I remember our wedding vows from eight years ago:

… to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish …

They feel truer today than ever before, and we are blessed this way. To many more happy years to come, my one and my only, my constant heart and my cherished hold.
