LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

As I hurry about our apartment today, mopping the floor one minute, washing the dishes the next, a thought occurred to me: “I enjoy taking care of our home.”

It feels like an epiphany but I ought to have realised this long before today. Better late than never.

In less than two weeks, we will be moving into our new house. So there will be more cleaning and tidying ahead. A bigger place means more to do.

Yet this is a blessing, is it not? They say that a house is not a home, not unless we make it so. And we will.

There was a second epiphany, you see. That I had always dreamed of having a house of my own, not a room or an apartment, but a real house with all the rooms I can imagine and a beautiful garden too.

And now we have it: a house of our own, a home we build together, just for the two of us. Thank you for making this so with me.

Yours, ever and always.
