LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

April 17, 2021

My dearest,

There is no hurry. It’s early in the morning and instead of chatting with you while I clean our kitchen counter or brew coffee, I take you down to our garden.

I am wearing the giant-sized, ungainly headphones we bought that time you were buying your new macro lens. The macro lens you employed so well photographing flowers and butterflies and birds and squirrels in our garden.

I take you around the many paths you are familiar with. I show you my shadow walking ahead of me, of us. My shadow waves at you, the you that is a hundred miles away in a different city.

You recognise my shadow. You recognise these garden paths. This is who we are and this is where we walk, every step in the journey of our life a new one and as precious as the last.

I take you everywhere I go and you me too.

Yours, ever and always.
