My dearest,
It’s raining. In fact, it’s been raining every day. From drizzle to downpour, the sky is ever cast with grey sheets and a gentle hum. Traffic slows down. Motorists become more careful. You can’t really see their grimaces, their flipping the bird; you can barely hear the impatient honking.
There’s only rain.
It’s quite wonderful.
When the rain falls harder, I remember the stroll across the Kuala Lumpur City Centre park after breakfast on our first anniversary. I’m holding the umbrella over us and holding you even closer. When the rain slows to a pitter-patter, I recall us crossing one of the bridges in Amsterdam and pausing for you to photograph the double rainbow, the first we’ve ever seen.
It’s raining. I think of you, of us, and I smile.
Yours, ever and always.
