LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

May 29, 2021

My dearest,

In a week marked by chaos and uncertainty (more than usual, which is saying something), you have taught me that it is okay to let go.

We can’t control everything. Sometimes what happens happens, and we will deal with it.

Which made me think about how folks consider the most romantic someone could say to another is “I love you.” You have shown me that there’s nothing more romantic than speaking the plain truth, kindly and gently. And with quiet strength. With hope.

There’s nothing more moving than maturity and wisdom and the will to surrender. That to surrender isn’t weakness but a determination to stay strong amidst adversity.

Thank you for making me stronger than I ever knew I could be.

Yours, ever and always.
