My dearest,
The air shimmers with summer heat in Bangkok. It’s our last week here after years and years. We are finally going home for good.
But this has been home, too, after a fashion. For home is wherever you are, my dearest. And that has been true for sixteen years and counting.
We may have a bigger house now. We may live in a different postal code. We have a garden now, to plant flowers in and water and weed. We have new recipes to discuss and attempt together.
What matters is that we are together, and that has been true since day one. Sixteen years and counting – such a blessing!
Happy sweet sixteen, my dearest, my sweetest.
Yours, ever and always.
