LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

You mentioned how the males of the species are often more beautiful: the peacock with his iridescent fan, a rainbow, a kaleidoscope; the lion with his majestic mane, lording over his pride.

I nod, for I agree wholeheartedly. For–

You remind me of Lion-O, regal and proud, lording over his dominion. You capture the heart of every conversation and you make it funnier, louder, more captivating.

You remind me of his longtime guardian, Jaga: wise and protective, whose guidance is unconditional, loving and deeply comforting.

You remind me of Panthro, strong and sturdy; a wall face of pure granite against the worst storms, the trials we never expect to come. You remain triumphant when the worst is over; and you make sure we weather those storms together, that we triumph together.

You remind me of Cheetara, quick to observe any slip ups I make and laughing at me before I can make a lame excuse to cover up.

You remind me of Tygra; it’s uncanny how often you read my mind.

The two of us remind me of Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat, partners in crime, always up for some new adventure, always chuckling at our own jokes and at each other.

This is what you remind me of when you mentioned the lion. It’s strange how my mind works but you know this already and sweetly, you have never minded.

Yours, ever and always.
