LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

March 31, 2021

My dearest,

The week and the month, they draw to a close. And with it our thirteenth anniversary. Tomorrow we begin another year together. Tomorrow is always the first day of the rest of our lives.

Ah but tomorrow is a mystery. The years to come await revelation; they have yet to be lived.

But today is no mystery.

Even when apart, I wake up every morning the same way, looking forward to conversation and communion with you. Looking forward to seeing your face and how it always brightens my day.

Even when you are there and I am here, I prepare for bedtime the same way, the two of us rewinding our day and retelling it so that both us may relive it, together.

I go to sleep every night thinking of you, my love. And every waking hour before that. And in my sweetest dreams, where we are safe in each other’s arms.

The week and the month, they draw to a close. And with it another anniversary, another of our years. Every single one matters. We count every moment and celebrate.

Yours, ever and always.
