LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

My dearest,

We decide to go to a daichow for dinner. There’s three of us so that means we get to order more food — a steamed fish, a claypot herbal chicken and stir-fried greens. Plenty of rice and Chinese tea to complete our meal. We talk and laugh, pour more tea, eat. It’s not simply a dinner though it’s a simple meal; this is communion, this is the stuff a good life, a well-lived life, a blessed life, is made of.

Pass the cili padi, please. I would like some more of this.

Yours, ever and always.
