LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

December 27, 2019

My dearest,

You call me vain.

I had asked you to take another picture of me. You say I’ve been this way since I started working out and losing weight. (Well, doesn’t hard-won fat loss merit photographic evidence?)

I smile. I remember telling friends that I suck at taking selfies. I don’t know how to pose for myself; my eyes are always looking too high or too low. I am awkward.

But.

When you take a picture of me, I am looking right at you. I see you and I see me. I see the two of us.

And I am never awkward. Not when you are my mirror.

Yours, ever and always.
