LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

December 20, 2019

My dearest,

You tell me this Sunday is the Winter Solstice.

I ask you, Shall we have dinner at the Hong Kong restaurant, a Dūngzi date? We can have roast goose and proper Cantonese fried rice. And, of course, tong yun – those must-eat winter dumplings.

You tell me you thought of the same thing. Great minds think alike.

Maybe not just minds, but two hearts that life together must bind, that the years have bound.

We will have tong yun, as round as reunions, as sweet as life.

Yours, ever and always.
