LOVE FOR BEGINNERS // 情書

April 17, 2020

My dearest,

We’re counting down the days till the end of our quarantine. We’ll be able to go home soon.

We will wash our laundry. We will change the bedsheets, dusty from over a month away. We will vacuum and mop the floor. We probably won’t cook, not at first; we’ll negotiate what food to order for delivery.

Until then, we still have our four walls surrounding us. We still have that one wall between us. But we are not separated; we never are, we never were.

We’ve had experience in this, perhaps more than most. From when you moved to Angola for work to your discovery of Vlaamse Frites with satay sauce in Assen, we’ve found our way.

And we will always have Bangkok, where we’ve built a second home and a new life together. We found our way.

Practice makes perfect and the two of us? We’ve always been good at practice.

Yours, ever and always.
