My dearest,

Our being together, even when we are apart, is a blessing and a miracle.

I have always known this but the past year has proven this true. The gospel of you and me. And speaking of gospels, here’s a beautiful line from an old book:

“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.”

I rediscovered this line in this week’s comic book delight of The Last Annihilation: Wiccan & Hulkling. Wiccan is the superhero codename for Billy Kaplan, the mystical progeny of the Scarlet Witch; Hulkling is the half-Kree, half-Skrull shapeshifter Teddy Altman.

I know you will ask me more about the Kaplan-Altmans (the young couple is married now in the comics) and I will hazard guesses as to whether they will turn up as the Young Avengers in the MCU in time to come; anything to keep you entertained.

I am my beloved’s minister of comic book trivia, and the pleasure, and the honour, is all mine.

Ask me more questions about Billy’s twin brother Tommy (who can run as fast as his uncle, Quicksilver) and about the rest of the Young Avengers. (Who else is queer, you wonder? More than we’d expect, another blessing and another miracle.)
